This week on Pulling Focus, we touch on the cannabis laws in Virginia, Brian is going to see Back to the Future, The Musical, we talk about “Big & Tall Village” since Europe was not designed for a 6’8′ stud like Mick Manhattan, is Tik Tok helpful to filmmakers, and how we both feel about film critics.

Ep 57: Laziest Podcasters Alive, Prey: Mentioned not Discussed & There’s No Room for Racism in Star Wars
Yes. Yes, we are aware that we need to prepare for shows but, as the title says, we’re the laziest podcasters alive. You’re getting two guys who love movies but also are trying to figure out the world like friends do. Sometimes we actually hit the mark and discuss film, film culture, Hollywood and the like.

Ep 56: A24, Slow Burns, More Depp v. Heard and Absolute Lack of Focus
Make sure to visit us over at The Scene Snobs and Skyline Indie Film Fest. Please like, share, subscribe and review we really appreciate it!

Ep 53: Pre Oscar Recording, If We Only Knew Then What We Know Now!
This episode, Mick and Brian have apparently turned their brains off and can’t remember 90s bands and movies. Our trivia mojo is fading. Sam Elliott, really? Not so subtle homo-eroticism in old westerns, and other Best Picture noms.

Ep 52: We’re Back!
We’re back! Yes, after a short break Mick and Brian are back in the studios, laughing and chatting it up about all kinds of things. Sometimes we even manage to talk about movies!

Ep 50: RIP Meat Loaf & Louie Anderson, Real Life Producer Talk On A New Short Film!
It’s so cold outside that Brian will not accept an actual temperature reading! Mick doesn’t trust bus drivers. Disney is everywhere and Brian is terrible at segways.
RIP Meat Loaf and Louie Anderson and Mick breaks Brian’s heart by calling Green Day “classic rock”.
Mick has a perfect troll technique for country music fans and Brian falls right into it.
Brian and Mick are not only podcast co-hosts but we’re now Producing Partners! We take first swings at a new short film we’ve been asked to produce, the budget, real world expectations and it’s a blast.

Ep 49: Sad Obituaries, Too Many Movies, Personal Links to Movies and Much, Much More!
First and foremost, Mick and Brian have fond memories of John Madden, Betty White and Sidney Poitier. What an end to 2021 and beginning to 2022. Rest in peace you American Treasures.
We move on to discuss how many movies we watch and is there a such a thing as watching too many movies.
Mick suggests that people like movies or have favorites because of some personal affiliation or familiarity to the plot. He’s right!

We still have fun meandering around some movie talk, the old days of warming up the television and hand turning 30 foot tall antennas in thunderstorms. Then, Brian says “Why Jersey” and Mick goes off about Jersey and the built in attitude. Like movies, it has a lot to do with shared experience.

Ep 46: Spider-Man, Ghostsbusters Afterlife, Crypto and More!
Happy Thanksgiving to those in the States! We’ve been watching movies and giving thanks for all of you! Believe it or not, Mick and Brian do not have an argument on this episode. Instead they discuss Spiderman, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, crypto currency and lots more. Enjoy!
